Family Records

My Great Grandma Ingersoll copied these birth and death records from her grandparent's family bible, Henry and Lavina Fash. Long years ago that was how all births and deaths were recorded. At the local church and in family bibles. I'm not sure whether they had birth certificates or courthouse Records. I posted pictures of obituaries and other documents on this site. Some were barely readable so I have rewritten them. I copied them just as they were even though some of them such as the obituary for Thomas Fash appeared to have mistakes. Ordinarily I found his mother's last name written as Harris however, here it was written Miller. My grandmother has written it as Harris. Well I don't know who to ask.

Grandmother's writing about our family129

Mom gave me this photo one day. She told me she didn't know who it was but had found it in grandma Ingersoll's basement after she died. After my mother died I was going through my mother's things when I found a small box and when I opened it up I found the same picture and on the box it said this is my grandfather Henry Fash Elizabeth.

This is the signature of Daniel Fash which was photographed from a book at my mom's house which belonged to Daniel. As you can see from the obituary above copied by my grandma Elizabeth he loved to read books. Some of the books he read included, "Burns As A Poet And A Man", and "The Jesuits In Our Homes" A Novel By Stanhope Burleigh.

  1. Hi….I too am researching the Fash Family. I am a decendent of Henry Fash. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada but our Fash family originated from Hampton, Nova Scotia. You have a very interesting site here….and some of the names that I have in my records match yours. So maybe, we are related some how down thru the lines. I also shared your site with a cousin who is also helping me do this. John Jacob Faesch is also mentioned on my side…guess he originated from Switzerland. And the pictures you have are great…thanks a bunch for sharing expecially to those of us who are still’s nice to see a face to go with a name.

  2. My grandma was Gladys Maude Fash…she was the daughter of Joseph and Freelove Fash ( White)…his father was Henry Fash
